The companies that produce ringtones worldwide have a great success nowadays due to the demand of new sounds and ringtones for cell phones. Everything started with a simple effect sound that very soon began to convert itself into a worldwide hit. This very known ringtone was the Crazy Frog, produced by the German company Jamba and distributed as a ringtone all over the world. At the beginning it was only a dance song and then it was transformed into many remixes of very known songs and with a great success. From the commercial point of view, Crazy Frog has been the most successful ringtone of the history.

Due to the appearance of the first ringtones for the cellular, it started the demand for new sounds and in consequence, the competence between the companies of downloading or selling ringtones. The music used as ringtones changes every season because of the last hits in the top of songs. The hits are also different from country to country and from one continent to another.

Mobile phones users from the European countries prefer to change the ringtone each time that there is a new trend and they prefer ringtones and real sounds of national music, the last hits songs and different hymns. Latin music and reggaeton are downloaded especially by users from Spain and South- America. Users from Asian countries usually prefer national music and pop music is downloaded as ringtones by many young people from China. In United Stated, the users of cell phones create their own ringtones and the most downloaded songs are rap, pop and rock music.
